What seasonal cleanup is, and when it makes sense

Seasonal cleanup is a reset for your yard. We rake and blow out leaves and needles, clear dead growth from beds, cut back plants that have finished their season and haul it all away. It is the right call when regular mowing keeps the lawn tidy but the beds, edges and corners have slowly filled with debris.

The timing follows your plants, not a northern calendar. Live oaks drop most of their leaves in late winter and spring, summer rain pushes fast growth, and the weeks before hurricane season are a good time to clear loose limbs and fronds. Many yards do well with two to four cleanups a year, matched to what the trees and plants around your home are doing.

If your yard has gone a year or more without attention, with overgrowth, junk piles or debris across the whole lot, our property cleanup service is probably the better fit. We will tell you which one you need.

What a seasonal cleanup includes

Leaf and needle removal

We clear oak leaves, pine straw and other drop from the lawn, beds, driveway and walkways. Leaves left matted on St. Augustine grass block light and hold moisture, which invites thinning and fungus.

Bed cleanout

We pull weeds, remove dead plants and clear old debris from your beds. If the mulch is thin or faded, we can refresh it as part of our mulch and beds service.

Cutting back and light shaping

Perennials, ornamental grasses and shrubs that have finished their season get trimmed back. Plants burned by a cold snap are cut back once the frost risk has passed, not before.

Storm-season prep

We pick up fallen limbs and fronds and point out loose or hanging branches that could become a problem in high wind. Larger work goes to our tree trimming and removal or palm tree pruning crews.

Edging and final blow-off

We crisp up the edges along beds, walks and the driveway, then blow off hard surfaces so you are not left with clippings.

Haul-away

Everything we clear leaves with us. No bags at the curb waiting for pickup day.

Signs your yard is due for a cleanup

  • Leaves are piling up in the beds

Oak drop tends to collect against the house and under shrubs. Once it mats down, it smothers small plants and keeps the soil soggy.

  • Patchy grass under the trees

Thin or yellowing turf under a heavy leaf layer is often just starved of light. Clearing it is the first step before deciding whether you need lawn care or new sod.

  • Brown, frost-damaged plants

After a cold night, tropical plants can look rough for weeks. Cutting the dead growth at the right time helps them push out clean new growth.

  • Weeds have taken over the edges

When weeds start creeping from the beds into the lawn, a cleanup with fresh edging stops the spread before it becomes a bigger job.

  • Loose debris before storm season

Fallen limbs, dead fronds and stacked yard waste can turn into projectiles in strong wind. Early summer is a sensible time to clear them.

How a cleanup works from the first call

  1. 1

    Free estimate by phone

Tell us about your yard and what is bothering you. We can often give you a straight read over the phone, or set up an on-site walkthrough if we need to see it.

  2. 2

    Walkthrough and written scope

We walk the property with you, note the beds, trees and problem spots, and explain what we would do and what it costs. You decide what goes on the list.

  3. 3

    Cleanup day

Our crew works through the yard in order: leaves and debris first, then beds and cutting back, then edging and blow-off. We keep gates closed and work around pets, plantings and irrigation heads.

  4. 4

    Final look together

Before we leave, we walk the yard so you can point out anything we missed. Debris goes in our truck, and we let you know if anything we saw needs attention later.

What affects the cost of a seasonal cleanup

Cleanup pricing comes down to how much material there is and how long it takes to clear and haul away. Two yards of the same size can price very differently if one sits under three big oaks. We explain each line on your estimate so you know exactly what you are paying for.

Leaf and debris volume
The number and size of trees overhead matters more than lot size. Heavy oak drop means more labor and more loads to haul.
Number and condition of beds
A few tidy beds go quickly. Overgrown beds full of weeds, vines or dead plants take more time.
How long since the last cleanup
A yard cleaned each season costs less per visit than one that has gone a year or two. Regular visits keep the price predictable.
Access and haul-away
Narrow side yards, locked gates or long carries to the truck add time. So does the total volume of debris we need to dispose of.
Add-ons
Fresh mulch, extra shrub shaping or limb work beyond hand reach are priced separately, and only if you want them.

Seasonal cleanup questions

Something not covered here? (407) 972-1255

When is the best time to schedule a cleanup here?

Late winter to spring is the busiest time, because that is when live oaks drop most of their leaves. A second cleanup in early summer clears debris before storm season, and a fall visit tidies up after the rainy months. We can help you pick the timing that matches your trees.

Should I cut back my frost-damaged plants right away?

Usually not. The dead leaves protect the living stems if another cold night comes. We wait until the frost risk has passed, then cut back to healthy growth so the plant recovers cleanly.

Do you take the debris with you?

Yes. Hauling everything away is part of every seasonal cleanup. You will not be left with bags or piles at the curb.

Can I book just one cleanup, or do I need a plan?

One visit is fine. Many people start with a single cleanup and then decide whether to add more visits through the year or pair it with regular lawn care.

Who will actually be working in my yard?

Our own crew. We are a family-owned company, business licensed and fully insured. That matters when people, blowers and trimmers are working close to your home, fences and plantings.
