ServicesTree Trimming and Removal

Tree Trimming and Removal in Casselberry

We trim trees so they stay healthy and clear of your roof, and we take down trees that have become a risk. You get a plain answer on whether a tree can be saved, what the work involves and what drives the price before anything is cut.

When to Trim and When to Remove

Most trees need trimming, not removal. Good pruning takes out dead wood, thins a crowded canopy so wind passes through, and lifts limbs off your roof, driveway and power drop. Done right, it adds years to a tree.

Removal is the right call when a tree is dead, badly decayed, leaning toward your home or growing where it will keep causing trouble. Laurel oaks, common across Central Florida, often rot from the inside long before they look sick, and hurricane season is when that weakness shows. We look at the trunk, the root flare and the canopy, then tell you what we see and which option makes sense.

We are a family-owned business, licensed and fully insured, which matters on any job where heavy limbs come down near a house.

What Our Tree Work Includes

Deadwood and hazard pruning
We remove dead, cracked and hanging limbs first, since those are the ones that fall in a storm.
Crown thinning and raising
Selective cuts open the canopy to let wind and light through. Raising lifts low limbs over walkways, the driveway and your lawn so grass gets sun again.
Roof and structure clearance
We cut branches back from the roofline, screens and pool enclosures so they stop scraping and dropping debris.
Controlled tree removal
Trees near your home are taken down in sections and lowered with ropes instead of dropped whole. Open yards may allow a simpler fell.
Cleanup and hauling
Limbs are chipped, logs are cut and hauled, and we rake and blow the area before we leave. If you want the stump gone too, our stump grinding service handles that.

Signs a Tree Needs Attention

  • Mushrooms or soft wood at the base

Fungus at the root flare or crumbly wood on the trunk usually means internal decay. That tree needs a close look soon.

  • A new or growing lean

Some trees grow with a lean and are fine. A lean that appears suddenly, or soil heaving on one side, points to root failure.

  • Branches over your roof

Limbs touching shingles wear them down and give squirrels a path inside. They also come down first in high wind.

  • Large dead limbs

Bare branches with no leaves in summer are dead. They get brittle fast and drop without warning.

  • Cracks and split trunks

Deep cracks, or a trunk split into two stems with a seam between them, are weak points that tend to fail under load.

  • Thin, sparse canopy

A tree losing leaves out of season or leafing out thin is often in decline from root damage, disease or old age.

How a Tree Job Runs

  1. 1

    Walkthrough and free estimate

We look at the tree with you, explain what we see and give you a written estimate with each tree and task listed. If a tree can be saved with trimming, we say so.

  2. 2

    Permit check

Some tree removals need city approval, depending on size and location. We tell you whether yours likely does and help you sort it out before work starts.

  3. 3

    Setting up the site

On work day we park, rope off the drop zone and put down protection where equipment crosses your lawn or pavers. We let you know which areas to keep pets and cars out of.

  4. 4

    Cutting and lowering

Limbs are cut in a set order and lowered by rope where anything below could be hurt. Removals go top down, section by section.

  5. 5

    Cleanup and final look

We chip the brush, haul the wood, and blow off the driveway and walkways. Then we walk the yard with you before we go.

What Moves the Price

Tree work is priced by the job, not by a flat rate per tree, because two trees the same height can be very different jobs. Here is what changes the number. If several large trees need to come down at once, you can spread out the cost with our financing, which covers amounts as high as $100,000 over terms of two to twelve years, and paying it off early carries no penalty.

Size and type of tree
A tall live oak with a wide crown takes far more cutting and hauling than a small ornamental. Hardwoods are also heavier to lower and move.
What is underneath
A tree over your roof, pool enclosure or fence has to be taken apart piece by piece. One in an open yard is quicker.
Access to the tree
Backyard trees behind gates or with no room for equipment mean more hand carrying and more time.
Tree condition
Decayed or storm-damaged trees can't be climbed or rigged the usual way, which adds care and time.
Extras you choose
Stump grinding, hauling all the wood or leaving logs for firewood each change the total. We list them separately so you can decide.

Tree Trimming and Removal Questions

Something not covered here? (407) 972-1255

How often should my trees be trimmed?

Most mature shade trees do well with trimming every three to five years. Fast growers near the house may need it more often. We'll tell you honestly if a tree doesn't need work yet.

When is the best time to trim before hurricane season?

Late winter through spring is a good window, before storms start in June. Pruning then removes weak limbs early and gives the tree time to put on new growth. Trimming can be done other times of year too.

Do I need a permit to remove a tree?

It depends on the tree's size, species and where it sits on your property. Many small or dead trees can be removed without one, while larger healthy trees may need approval. We check with you during the estimate so you aren't caught off guard.

Will you damage my lawn or driveway?

We lower heavy pieces by rope and put down protection where equipment travels. A big removal can still leave some flattened grass. If a patch needs repair afterward, our sod installation service can fix it.

Does removal include the stump?

Not automatically. We cut the stump low to the ground, and grinding it out is a separate line on the estimate. Many people add stump grinding so the area can be replanted or sodded.

Do you trim palm trees too?

Yes, through our palm tree pruning and removal service. Palms need different cuts than other trees, so we price and plan them separately.

Have a Tree You're Unsure About?

We'll come out, look at it with you and tell you whether it needs trimming, removal or nothing at all. Your estimate is free and comes with a clear list of what's included.
